Media Reports Of Crop Planting Disasters Debunked

This past spring there have been many reports of farmers having problems with planting their crops. They have focused on farmers near rivers where there is flooding. Other reports show photo's of patches of flooded ground. The fact that less than one tenth of 1% of planned planting has been affected is never mentioned in these news reports. The reports implied that there could be serious food shortages due to planting problems.

Corn Planted Acreage Up 5 Percent from 2010
Soybean Acreage Down 3 Percent
All Wheat Acreage Up 5 Percent
All Cotton Acreage Up 25 Percent

These plants are almost fully mature and ready for harvest. Crops all the way from Chicago on I-88, I-39 and all side roads look excellent.

These plants are over nine feet tall. Many other fields had even taller plants.

Now, if I would just eat less, I'd be healthier and there would be more food for everyone else.
